SAPS CALCULATIONS SERVICE

Our New Partners

Est-e-mate (South West) is pleased to announce that they have formed a partnership with Briary Energy. One of the UK's leading energy assessment companies.

The Managing Director, Gary Nicholls, was the author of SAP Untangled which is recognised as the leading document for SAP's assessment guidance by the Zero Carbon Hub.

Briary Energy offer CSH, BREEAM, SAP and SBEM/DSM energy assessments, plus, other energy and sustainability services.

What are SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) Calculations?

A SAP rating is the calculation that is required to produce a Predicted Energy Assessment (PEA) and an on-construction Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

Building Regulations require that a SAP calculation and a Predicted EPC is submitted for new dwellings prior to the commencement of work.

A SAP calculation indicates a score from 1 to 100+ for the annual energy cost based on:

The higher the score the lower the running costs, with 100 representing zero energy cost. Dwellings with a rating more than 100 are net exporters of energy.

The services we can offer

Through our new partnership we can now offer the following services to you:

Other services include; Thermal Mass Modelling, Over-Heating Analysis, Daylight Calculations, Part G Water Calculations.

How long does a SAP’s assessment take?

A standard house type assessment is usually completed in 5-10 days, this is of course dependant on the level of information received and any conversations that may need to take place between the assessor and the customer regarding compliances.

For larger bespoke projects and commercial assessments, a time schedule will be indicated when you receive the cost of carrying out the projects assessment.

How much will an assessment cost?

As each project is unique, it is necessary to be able to review the amount of work and time schedule that will be required to achieve the completed assessment, therefore we operate a “price on application” (POA) policy, similar to the way we process enquiries for our estimating services.

The prices that are charged for assessments are in line with current industry charges for those particular services.
